Football Recap: San Marcos Knights vs. Poway Titans 

San Marcos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Poway Titans. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

San Marcos' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Poway, they moved to 7-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

San Marcos and Poway should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Knights will face off against Ramona at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (124 vs. 294). The two teams have allowed few points on average (San Marcos 12.3, the Bulldogs 13.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Poway (ranked 113th) will meet El Camino (ranked 579th) at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
